Mohammad Hafeez Criticizes Virat Kohli’s Batting

Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has criticized Virat Kohli’s batting in the ongoing Cricket World Cup, saying that he saw a “sense of selfishness” in the Indian batter’s approach.

Hafeez made the comments after Kohli was dismissed for 37 in India’s match against Bangladesh on Monday, November 6, 2023. Kohli’s dismissal was his third in the tournament where he has gotten out after scoring a decent start.

“I saw a sense of selfishness in Virat Kohli’s batting,” Hafeez said on a Pakistani TV channel. “He was not looking to rotate the strike and build partnerships. He was only looking to hit boundaries and sixes.”

Hafeez also said that Kohli’s batting had a negative impact on the Indian team.

“Kohli’s batting was selfish and it had a negative impact on the Indian team,” Hafeez said. “He was not building partnerships and he was not rotating the strike. This put pressure on the other batsmen and it led to their downfall.”

Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen of all time, but he has not been at his best in the ongoing World Cup. He has so far scored 88 runs in three matches at an average of 29.33.

Hafeez’s criticism of Kohli is likely to spark a debate among cricket fans. Some people will agree with Hafeez, while others will defend Kohli.

Only time will tell whether Kohli can find his form and help India win the World Cup.
